joy to the world and to me!!! ^^V

finally: FAHRENHEIT concert tickets!!! *hyperhyper*

there's only 2 tickets, for me and Yun Xin.. hehe..
i know many of my friends are not Fahrenheit fans.. so yeah..
nobody would be jealous of me.. but just be happy for me alright?

this my second ever concert..
my very first time was the Tsunami Aid Concert back in 2004..
that time i had like VIP seats or what not..
just 10 rows of seat from the centre stage!
and the worst thing was: i don't enjoy music back then..

there was like Black Eyed Peas, whom i didn't know exist then..
and Backstreet Boys and some other famous people..
you feel like whacking me right now hor? *whacked*

counting down the days and only 10 stone throws away from IMU!

oh btw, i had like the longest Medical Musuem session on Friday..
on Craniofacial Osteology.. 3 hours of it, i think..
where we had to identify different parts of the skull!
they have really cool models that kinda give me a headache! =P

some of my dental mates on my right..

and the some of them on my left..

just for fun: the head, foot and hand.. guess which is real?

that's all for now.. eh, eh! wait, wait!
28th March 2009, 8.30pm-9.30pm is like the earth hour right?
the concert gonna be dark ah? can't be right..
then Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil gonna be like super bright!
cos houses and buildings suppose to have their lights off? OMG~

oops!

this is like my very first time ever waking up late..
like twice in less than a week! this is so not me.. GAH!!!

may be it was because no one gave me a morning call?
it's a school holiday, my brothers do not have class..
and so my mum ain't waking up early..
first it was Monday at 6.55am, and this morning at 7am!

i rushed like a total mad person..
got ready in 15 minutes and i skipped breakfast..
not really la, more like eating it in the car..
late already ma.. i usually leave by 7.10am!

speeding all the way, sorry Zeng if i gave you a heart attack!
you gave me one too just the other day..
this is a not-so-sweet revenge.. haha..

someone has something major to do tomorrow morning..
i have to make sure i won't have an "overtime" beauty sleep!
*prays that i hear my alarm clock tomorrow morning*

p/s: major breaking news coming up! =D

life at IMU so far..

classes have been on-going for 2 weeks already..
and this is only applicable to dental students.. hehe..
traveling 40 minutes per journey daily is so not fun,
but what to do? i still want to be pampered at home.. =P

anyway, look what my angel gave me during the orientation?
i later found out that she's Evonne! so sweet of her.. aww~

we have Foundation 1 classes together with the medical students..
they have been so far so good..
we learn like different topics in each class..
more like a repetition of A Levels stuff, just more in depth.. =)

well, just an advice for all future medical or dental students,
take A Levels instead of SAM/WAM, even it's slightly longer..
or you might need to suffer more during your first year!
and this point has been proven.. *winks*

Dental Science 1 is a whole new world to me..
"try remembering the 4 different muscles of mastication:
temporalis, masseter, lateral pterygoid and medial pterygoid.."
i just typed this out for the fun of it (without referring to my notes)
which i believe should be correct.. hehe..
the lecturer told us that in the first craniofacial embryology class..
it was like hearing gibberish, at that point of time!
but i trying to get use to the terms now.. haha..

i think the library would be my second home from now..
cos we have like a lot of self-study sessions..
hopefully looking at models at the medical museum,
will make more sense to me in the near future! *prays prays*

the books that i am currently using.. more to come! XD

oh, do you know that we have to print our own lecture notes..
on our OWN paper, and get charged 8 cents per page?
i find this is utterly ridiculous..
especially when i am paying for the MOST expensive fees in Malaysia!
no i am not joking, it seriously is.. =S

seniors say we don't need to be so kiasu during the first semester..
but everyone seems to be very brainy..
so yeah, i need to put more effort than anyone else..
wish me luck! i will survive~ FIGHTING!!! =)

yesterday, i actually drove to Taman Megah without getting lost! =D
met Melissa and the rest of the Community Service Club at a home..
both of us were like the first to arrive among the group..
total blur case until we spoke to one of the supervisors there..

basically there were like 2 groups of kids there..
one is the disabled kids or adults, not those without hands or legs..
they have them, but they can't stand or walk, just lie on the floor..
some are mentally disabled, while others are just orphans..
some stay there permanently, for others it's just a day care cantre..

the first girl we played with, let's call her Fong..
she has some spinal cord problem since young..
she understands like 4 languages.. better than me!
but she can't really communicate.. so we had quite a tough time..
it's really quite a pity, but she seemed to be enjoying herself..
we played some hand games with her, sang simple songs,
teach her different part of the face and get pinching from her!

then, there's this other guy, an uncle..
who goes around shaking people hands and say "Hi!!!" 30 times each..
there were a few times, he held my hand so hard..
and start pulling me around to say "Hi" with others..
swt i know, but he's having a good time.. so let it be!

another kid, an indian girl with Down Syndrome i believe..
omg, she is so smart! she's like our orientation officer.. no joke!
she wrote a Christmas song, with really good handwriting..
make us find like 10 people to sing the song..
she ordered us to sit in a circle and ask for our name and age..
then she asked us to line up in a straight line!
when we were about to sing, the lunch bell started ringing..

i helped to serve the food to the occupants there..
their portion for the dishes are really small..
but some had like huge amount of rice on their plate!
then i saw another kid with Down Syndrome,
feeding the other kids who are unable to move..
it was really touching, so nice of him.. =)

we also played games with the orphans..
they are really hyper bunch of kids and their games are LOL!
they'll come up with the funniest way to play a normal game..
we usually let them win la.. haha..

the group of us outside the Taman Megah Home.. =)

do you think i should go to the Taman Megah home weekly?
or every alternate week i go to teach the Chow Kit kids English?
i need your suggestions my friends! thanks~

IMU Orientation Week 2..

our 2-weeks of orientation is finally over..
no more seniors and juniors differences, no more physical torture..
just some mental breakdown to go.. just joking~
so here's what we have been doing for the past week..
other than classes in the morning of course.. =)

remember the Indoor Treasure Hunt i mentioned last post?
here are the zombies.. sticky and sweaty! =P

we had to mummify one member, carry her round the 4th floor..
run and shout our cheer!

anyway, the treasure hunt was continued outdoor the next day..
i think we had like 8 stations or so.. more pictures ahead!!!

passing banana, 2 half-boiled eggs and orange with our feet!

hungry Thariq volunteered to eat them all after being squashed!

next we had to throw water balloons without dropping it..

drawing different body parts on Tom..

already dirty after station no.2?

Group 14 lost the cheer fight.. so the IMSS Philip got egg on his head!
thanks to our IMSS Tay.. haha..

i really pity whoever had to carry me.. i am not light!

Shahira looking for coins inside "chicken blood"..

then we had to duck walk back..

make up artist Precelia doing her job on me..

Hui Yi looked more geisha than me.. haha..

us doing the helicopter spin for those who didn't turn up..

girls putting butter all over ourselves..

throwing raw egg to each other with oily hands.. without dropping!

guys singing Negaraku with the top of their voice..

dip their head into very fishy smelling liquid..

the guys pumping..

our leader Jia Wei and IMSS Tay getting "tortured" by Macha Gang

guys soaking their clothes in foul-smelling water in another station..

the next day, Sunday.. we went for our Track Trip in KLCC..
i arrived at IMU at 8am..
and we had to wait till 9am before everyone showed up!

Deep 6 Track Trippers..

we took the LRT and met our OOs there..

at Kinokuniya..

with one of the best-selling books..

at Aquaria KLCC..

Deep 6 unite!

we practically went up and down the escalators several times.. =P

there's a video of the longest 5 minutes ever in my Facebook..
yes, i finally opened one.. thanks to you guys.. haha..
stopping in the middle of the KLCC crowd!
receiving stares and comments.. lol.. great job! =)

but we had a big fat ZERO for Track Trip..
cos we handed in our CD and comic strip very late.. boo hoo~

Monday evening we had our first Dress Code event..
our group were supposed to be the Justice League..
we decided on Superman, Flash, Batman and Joker.. hehe..
they are Shing, Anson, Boh and Eu Gene respectively..
and we had to incorporated the song Sexy Back in our performance!

our very classic Joker (by far the best), Eu Gene and Thariq..

so here's the video.. it's starts around 2:30.. enjoy!

and that was a Joker-Batman spoof made famous in YouTube.. =D

they had Telematch on Tuesday evening at Sri Petaling field..
i skipped the event cos i wasn't feeling that well..
Deep 6 had a lot of fun in the mud, i heard.. XD

i have mentioned earlier that we'll go all out for signatures?
catch a glimpse of 2 funny things we did..

singing "Seasons in the Sun" in Chinese and Indian slang for Benedict:

sticking ourselves on to the glass of the temporary cafeteria..
it was quite full at that point of time, so equals to more stares!

on Wednesday night we had the second Dress Code activity..
we were supposed to be from the tribal Apache tribe from America..
our special guest was Justin Timberlake, acted by Tom..

here you go:

on Thursday, we were free of any activity..
i went back home at 5pm! what a miracle~

on Friday was our Variety Night..
our IMSS solo performance and group performance of Little Mermaid,
were C.R.A.P.ped in less than 2 minutes.. haha..
and we were sent to Detention.. twice!
what to do? we were all really tired and exhausted!
and i had to drive home at 12 midnight all the way from Bukit Jalil!
Group 9 with their Cinderella storyline was awesome though.. =D

our props of Flounder and Sebastian! our OO Precelia and Tom..

the last activity of Orientation was Finale Night..
we had to dress up as Retro as possible..
free dinner but they had not enough food.. =.="""

the guys who came: Thariq, Zi Qin, Tay, Anson, Jia Wei

the girls: Michelle, Joo Yong, our OO Olive and i..

our head of Deep 6 OO, Daniel.. looking really retro! =)

another OO, Esther (middle) during MEDT1/08 cheerleading show!

our OO Precelia with Elvis-look-alike, Benedict.. haha..

each group had to send out one retro-looking couple to catwalk!
it was me and Thariq.. so embarassing la.. =P

and Happy Birthday Jeremy! the MEDT1/09 Orientation President.. =)

it's not points that matter..
we had lots of fun, and we got to know our team well..
so GREAT job, DEEP 6!!! =)))

IMU Orientation Week 1..

O-R-I-E-N-T-A-T-I-O-N!!!
this is what i have been having all week..

my body is aching all over, on my thighs to be exact! T___T
but i really had a fun and exhausting week!
reminds me of NS except that this time round, there's less food!

to the MEDT1/09 Orientation Committee, bravo!
you guys really did a great job so far, the ideas were awesome..
just the implementation and timing need improvement! hehe..

basically there are about nearly 300 newbies this intake..
most of them are Medical students, only 50 are Dental students..
first day as a university student was alright.. *yay finally!*
we just had White Coat ceremony, pledged our oath,
collect some stuff and get our student ID photo taken..
the the Dental students were briefed about our course..

on the second day, we meet our seniors and Deans..
later on we were divided into 14 orientation groups..
and the seniors had this wonderful theme for our orientation..
it's call GROUND ZERO: Can You Survive?
oh btw, our orientation is called MEDT1/09 Bootcamp!
check out this blog for more details.. =)

we were shown this orientation video.. wonderful! *claps claps*
it was about a nameless (i think) virus being spread in IMU..
and the FART team, which i forgot what it stands for..
was there to recruit members to save the survivors!

FART team were introduced to us there and then.. cool? no?

this is our survival guide for 2 weeks!

my orientation group is group 6..
which was subsequently named Deep 6 by the 20 members..
we found out later that there were 2 spies among us..
yes, they are already in Semester 3 - Seniors..
no wonder they are always M.I.A during activities!!

our leader is Jia Wei, the I M Super Soldier (IMSS) is Tay,
Boh, Tom, Cheong, Eu Gene, Anson, Zi Qin, Shing, Thariq,
Shahira, Puvanaa, Amelia, Stephanie, Hui Yi, Michelle, Durga,
and not forgetting me are junior members of Deep 6..
the 2 spies were Jing and Jene.. hehe..

i don't know how many Orientation Officers (OOs) we have..
but the ones i see regularly and know they exist are:
Daniel, Si Han, Ric, Esther, Precelia, Olive, Felicia.. that's about it?

anyway, the very first activity was Ice-Breakers on Wednesday..
which was divided into 2 parts: the dry and wet!
the Dry Ice-breakers was a bit dull and disorganised..
but for the wet one, the seniors had a whole lots of fun..
we had like 10 stations i think and lots of cheer fights!
we ended up with flour, eggs, starch, paint, ink all over us..
and a lot a lot a lot of WATER!!!

i had to endure stares from strangers after all was over..
as i went to a clinic with my dad at around 11.30pm!
just imagine a girl all wet head to toe, with paint on her clothes,
with one patch of pink jelly, harden flour on her hair.. ME!!!
and they asked me what happened.. =.= very embarassing la..

our group name tag: tombstone.. and it's waterproof! =D

the next activity we did was Signature Hunt..
we only got like 40% of the seniors' signature so far..
we had to do all sorts to get their signatures..
the weirdest one so far was to do the Banana Dance
and sing Baa Baa Black Sheep joget-style,
while sitting on each others' legs by bending our knees!
i think the guys had to like catwalk at once.. haha..

some Deep 6 during Signature Hunt, outside Medical Musuem..

Thursday was a break.. *phew*
then on Friday, we had indoor treasure hunt inside the IMU building!
before the game started we had to watch Quarantine..
to get us into the zombie mood.. totally freaked me out ok?!!

Quarantine.. human turned zombies.. that lady acted really well!

Deep 6 with our OOs before the indoor treasure hunt..

i was not in the picture cos i went to the loo!
but i think we have the coolest and biggest flag among all.. =)))

IMU can be a really dark and scary place without the lights on..
it was formerly a shopping mall.. so yeah..
and there were "zombies" everywhere ready to scare us..
we had to protect our group leader who needed to shout:
"chigala bugala.. i know your name is *zombies' name*"
and some random station master gave us the wrong clue..
we ended up at the 2nd last place.. sigh..

the next morning on Saturday, we had Outdoor Treasure Hunt..
at the Bukit Jalil park or something like that..
there were 7 stations all together, if i am not mistaken..
a lot of running and energy draining tasks to do..
i thank God i was born a girl.. guys had a hell of a time!

i had my face painted like a geisha (don't really look like.. haha..)
with flour and Buncho colouring..
use my feet to pass banana, orange and eggs.. to be eaten.. eww!
being carried by 2 guys and my hands stuck into red starch..
butter all over my face, hands and hair, duck and caterpiller walk,
stack over my poor group mates to form a pyramid,
had eggs smashed on to my head, added suger to appear "sweet"..
run 5 rounds, do the helicopter spin at least 50 rounds!!!
i think under the sun, i would have become a cake.. =P

the poor guys had it worse..
lots of pumping, running more rounds, carrying of people,
their heads and shirt soaked in some really smelly liquid..
i heard it was made of dead fish left for days, intestines etc..
apparently doctors must be able to take the smell..
and it is nothing compared to rotten dead bodies.. o.O

our group arrived first at the check point before lunch,
we were at least 5 minutes earlier than the 2nd group..
but i dunno why we weren't even in the top 3..
i think they probably just counted the last stop..
where we had to run from the park hand-in-hand,
to the IMU main entrance to open the safe..
cheh~ no fair!!! all our hard work..

my hair was totally harden to the max after the game!

the raw egg got cooked! and it stank..
luckily my body wasn't that wet, thanks to the sun.. =P

and this morning, i woke up at 6.50am on a Sunday morning!
i reached IMU at 8am.. no jam.. *yeah*
and by the time everyone turned up, it was 9am.. aarrgh..
we headed to KLCC by LRT for our track trip..

we had our breakfast at McDonalds.. easier ma..
took pictures at the places where the clues were given..
and stopped in the middle of the crowd for 5 minutes!
we successfully did so only after the 3rd attempt.. haha..

people were like staring at us and i was going to LOL!
my partners were awesome, i nearly cried.. my eyes hurt!

i love the team spirit and enthusiasm for those who participated!
Deep 6, members and OOs, you guys and girls rock!!!
keep up the good work.. hang in there, just another week to go! =D

and OMG!!! my dear Chun injured his leg during HK concert!!!

means he can't dance or swing when he comes to Malaysia..
but he's doing well in Brunei, stay strong my dear!!!
***BIG FAT HUGS***
