it has been 3 weeks since the Sichuan earthquake huh?
the innocent lives that were lost since 12 May 2008..
may they rest in peace.. *prays*
for those lucky people who survived..
may they stay strong and climb their way back up..

donations came pouring in from all walks of life..
be it a thousands of dollars or just a mere few dollars..
have you gave your share?
have you prayed for them from the bottom of your heart?
have you supported them in any other way?
may God bless you if you did..
even if you haven't, it's not too late..

i went to YouTube..

Sichuan 5-12 survivors, fighting!!!

i went for my medical check up at two clinics today!

well, the first clinic was a private one..
but the doctor could not do anything..
i showed him my blood test report and my NS medical form..
and he said that i don't need any blood test.. *phew*
cos my report stated that i don't have Hepatitis C antibodies
as i have never suffered from the disease.. obvious right? =.=
so he asked me to call IMU to inform them..
that IMU Malay admission office lady simply say me ah..
waste my time, doctor's time and my petrol.. *waives fist*

the doctor also can't do medical check up for NS on me..
cos i can only get it done in a government clinic..
or some army camp or some sort.. hehe.
he explained to me in detail and didn't even charge me!
i wasted like half an hour of his time, you know..
so i got free consultation.. the doctor very nice lor.. =)

so i headed to a government clinic on the NS booklet..
WALAO A!!! i had a shock of my life.. so many people!
the clinic has all sorts of departments and quite big also..
i was as dumb as a blur sotong.. i am serious..
i had to ask people where to register and get my number!

i had to wait for my number to be called..
then i was assigned to 4 different rooms..
and i paid for my own medical check up with MY money..
i got the proof here.. see my receipt below..

that was how much my medical check up cost me! wee~

ok, may be not that squeky.. but my voice is getting hoarse..
my more manly voice right now reminds me of IMU..
i think i coughed and talked differently that time..
no sound came out from my voice box ma..
i have a freaking sore throat and cough.. T__T

i had my Maths paper 3 yesterday morning..
and i did not bring my calculator to college..
i know it is very careless of me!
without my pacifier for maths, i was doomed big time!
but i seriously remember putting into my bag..
had to ask around for one and *phew*
i found mine on my sofa, it dropped out of my bag! =.=

anyway, i think i totally screwed it up..
all my preparations were pretty useless!
i have never came across those questions before,
and the usual questions did not even appear?
basically i was skipping the questions all over.. sigh..
since i am not the only one whining..
hopefully they'll lower the grades for our sake! *prays*
then at least i can have a glitter of hope!

next is about flash floods and traffic jam!
OMG!!! i spent 2.5 hours sitting in my car in the evening..
2 semi-circle butt prints sank on the driver seat.. no joke!
i went to send my brother for tuition at TTDI..
the sky was dark at that time then it began to rain heavily..
i think mother nature is playing revenge on us..
cos it was raining cats and dogs for the past few days!
including continuous lightning and thunder..
i hope it won't happen that often in NS.. *prays prays*

ok, so after dropping off my brother, i headed back home..
it was a little jam here and there and suddenly a standstill..
cos there's a flood a few cars ahead of me!
water went into a poor Kancil on the right lane..
it was as high as its number plate!
i guess because he stopped at the traffic lights..
i was in the middle lane when i saw motorcyclists
pushing their bikes.. either the motorcyclist were short,
or the water was really high.. up to their knees!
and the left lane was completely submerged in water..
so obviously no cars moved!

some cars went to the opposite road to move against traffic!
but no avail cos they are still stuck..
some cars from the opposite direction took the challenge
of moving through the flood waters!
high vehicles like lorry, buses and 4WDs manage to pass it..
other lower vehicles just failed miserably..
water went in to their engines.. sigh..
so i called my mum to ask her for guidance..
should i go through the flood waters? *my car higher ma*
should i make a U-turn or wait for the water to subside?

i was stuck at this SAME position for an hour!

some of the cars that got stuck were pushed out by motorist!

i was bored so i started drawing on my misty windscreen!

i had to give up my bed for 2 grandmas last night..
they are at Hainan Islands together with 4 other old folks
with my dad as a guide right now.. *peace*
so i had to sleep on the sofa.. it was still comfy! hehe..
but i feel better today though.. ^^V

i just came back from the interview at IMU..
seriously hope that i can get a place in there.. *prays*
or else AIMST is absolutely my last hope for Dentistry!
i am not being pessimistic about my chances in Australia.. =)

AIMST is the university which Samy Vellu started..
apparently they only accept the actual A Level results..
so i have to wait till August..
hopefully their application has not reach the dateline then!
their first batch of dental students will graduate next year..
plus their fees are like half of IMU's ma.. hehe..

ok, back to IMU..
i reached there just 30mins before my interview time slot..
kinda got lost again, cos my mother was driving..
she insist on using the shortcut she's not familiar about.. =.=

there were 3 other interviewees waiting at that time..
meet this PM7 girl Evonne over there..
she doesn't seem to recognize me when i talked to her..
my presence don't really make an impact on people huh? T.T
anyway, we said hi and talked for awhile..
then she went in for her interview for Dentistry as well..
and she came out in like 10mins? that was fast..

here comes my turn.. *gulps*
greet interviewers - a middle-aged man and a young lady..
with the usual smile, say hi, and firm handshakes.. =)
here goes the questions after questions based on my reply!

Q1: How are you?
i am feeling good but a bit nervous.. *smile and shaking*

Q2: Oh, i see.. Have you had your lunch?
yeah.. *i wanted to say what i ate.. haha*

Q3: Ok, good.. so this is going to be an informal
interview..it's like a small chat, so just relax.. =)
ok.. *why la you ask me to wear formal clothes?
i had to ransack my entire closet to find them!*

Q4: Now introduce yourself..
- blab about me..
- my interests (including watching movies)
- Dr Mahathir and the card.. (he's the IN news now ma)
- blab more about other stuff..
- forgot to mention about sports - badminton!! *loves*

Q5: Your life is quite balance..=) so why dentistry?
i was like very balance meh? in my heart la of cos..
then i just realize she was saying that i am not a nerd! hehe..
- blab about the usual stuff i say..
- and i just had to add in some fresh ideas..

Q6: How do you plan to encourage more people to
visit their dentists more often?
- start from young.. blablabla..

Q7: Why do you think most people fear dentists?
-blabbed a whole bunch of stuff..

Q8: But don't you think pain is the main factor?
like all those pulling and drilling?
it might be.. but i thought it felt like an ant bite *smile*
then the guy interviewer said may be i have exceptionally
high pain tolerance *LOL*

Q9: How's your manual dexterity? *not again*
- use computers and do some handicraft lor..
- i said that i don't play the piano..
cos last time i remember reading a girl's blog..
her interviewer threw her a bomb saying that
she does not play the piano but yet she's a dentist!

Q10: How are good are you as a team player?
- blablabla..

Q11: Are you more comfortable being the team
leader or the team follower?
- chose both and explain my stand..

Q12: so what are the qualities a dentist should have?
*shouldn't this be asked before Q9?*

after that they gave me a case to solve:
A patient was treated by a doctor. As a gratitude to
the doctor, the patient's family offered an all expense
paid trip. If you were the doctor, what would you do?

i said i will reject right away cos it was my duty to treat him..

Q: What if the family insist?
i'll insist not to take up the offer.. if they want, they can give
me a small souvenir from the trip cos the trip is expensive..

Q: Why would you accept the gift and not the trip?
because it's the thought that counts.. even if it is a pen,
i'll accept it openly.. cos a trip is gonna cost a bomb!

Q: What if to the family, the trip costs nothing?
i'll asked them to recommend more patients to me instead!
- my reasoning? rich people's money ma.. haha..
- of cos i didn't say that out loud.. =P

they actually laughed at my final answer lor..
and they finally gave up.. XD
then it was my turn to ask the question..
they gave me a long explanation! i geng leh..

so basically the interview was really like a small chat..
although the guy interviewer kinda fumble when he talks..
they were both very nice and friendly..
and since i made them laugh.. they should give me a spot!
