buterfly lovers

i would like to give a big fat hug to Yun Xin! *HUGSHUGS*
thank you my dear for teman-ing me to finally watch
my Chun's first movie - Butterfly Lovers!!!

only airs at 1pm at Cineleisure and 3.40pm at Pyramid daily..

now i get why there's not much advertisement about it..
the first few words that Chun's character spoke..
kinda disappointed me.. not even his voice leh! =(
it seems that his Cantonese is as good as mine..
so i only had his looks to look forward to.. haha..

although we missed the first 10 minutes of the movie..
i thought the movie was pretty good..
i don't think i am being biased about this.. =P
very loving and touching.. i cried at a couple of scenes!
and it had a really sad ending.. aww..

so here's the preview of Butterfly Lovers..
if only it was Chun's voice.. i would say it's perfect! =D

oh btw, Sunway Pyramid's parking was like a maze..
something new for Malaysian car parks.. haha..
i took like 10 minutes to find a freaking car park!

and i did reverse parking today!! *claps claps*
you might think it's an everyday thing..
but not for me.. it was a pretty sharp corner..
only my second time doing so with my car..
and first time parking reversed without guidance!
another accomplishment, i can say.. lol..

IMU working life update..

my 1 month of working part-time at IMU is here!
i know i have mentioned this phrase like forever..
but i just have to repeat it.. yup, yet again!
TIME REALLY FLIES!!!

although i may be doing the same stuff over and over again..
every single working day.. which means weekdays only..
cos weekends are strictly for sleeping and relaxing! Haha..
i somehow felt the satisfaction in me upon completion.. =)

yes, all those simple/ boring
and also brain-juice-squeezing/ back-aching tasks..
ranging from data entry, filing, scanning, answering enquiry
through the phone or face-to-face, photostatting hundreds
of papers using the super-duper machine,
scheduling interviews, create template for the new system,
sending stuff to other departments,
taking mails from the pigeon hole (as they call it)
to flipping through piles of newspaper etc..
now i even get to process new applications.. *claps claps*

i have been through all that alright..
and I am still absorbing new stuff and improving each day!
practically like doing what full-timers do,
except with the very much less pay..
this what you get from temporary working full-time! =(

being part of customer services really opened my eyes!
Admissions department is part of servicing customers, right?
it's where potential students and parents first step into!

day by day, i have the guts to answer phone calls..
before this, i simply refused to pick up the ringing phones..
just in case i screw anything up, you see..
but i was told that if I don’t try, i’ll never know..
everyone makes mistakes and usually learn from them!

so each time I am unsure of anything,
i’ll just ask my colleagues..
either with one hand covering
the phone receiver or after i put the
phone down
or pass to someone else then eavesdrop.. haha..

and the BEST satisfaction I actually had so far..
was not my boss thanking me for saving her a day’s work..
or my colleagues acknowledging me for my efficiency..
or the constant supply or free yummy food on daily basis..
or people thanking me over the phone for my help..

instead it is this:
parents who show an effort to pay attention to me talking..
even though they found out i am working part-time..
and soon going-to-be an IMU student next January..
(I look freaking immature wearing T-shirt and jeans to work..
i don’t bother, as I am saving the dress code for future use)
later, they realized I am pretty informative and
well-versed with the courses,
and eventually praise me for that..=)))

i mean how, often adults actually listen to youngsters?
and eventually say “you are pretty good!”?

many thanks to my studying of IMU brochures,
non-stop asking my ever-helpful colleagues questions,
lots of research before I dared to open my mouthful of gold!

anyway, talking about IMU.. this university is pretty happening!
they have activities like every single week since i started work..
even though it was during the exam period.. whoa!

oh.. and remember the hot Korean guy i was talking about?
he's in the IMU Bachelor and Bachelorette 2008 competition..
there's 10 contestants each, representing different courses..
and the finale will be next week i think..
and i found out his name.. Hwa Rang!!! =)

we walked pass each other twice on a particular day..
he smiled at me once, when i smiled at him.. haha..
i think he's only a few cm taller than me.. but he's H.O.T.!
i also found out he's very good at football..
may be i should join the football club next year.. *whacked*

try to spot the HANDSOME Korean guy Hwa Rang in this picture
*i took the picture and that sentence from a GUY's blog*

you see, even guys agree with me!
but i must say, he don't look as good as real life in here..
you can only see slits of his eyes here.. haha..

oh, i dealt and spoke with 3 Koreans who applied to IMU..
the guys were just so-so though..
but the girl was oh-my-god-she's-freaking-pretty!
big eyes, fair and flawless skin, smart with good English..
and nice personality.. she would be a great dentist!

i believe that's all for now..
i noticed that this is a freaking long post..
with lots of words and no pictures..
so i really appreciate you reading it..
i am working ma.. what you expect? =P

dedications to Uncle Fat

the road trip was unexpectedly our last one all together..
that day, you seemed to be enjoying yourself with the dads..
all the happy and non-stop eating plus chatting moments..
exactly 2 weeks later, you shocked us all and left for God..
now we'll be short of one person for the future trips!

Uncle Fat, you will be deeply missed!

i remember that when we were younger..
you insisted that we call you Uncle Fat!
not because your surname was Fat, i knew it was Liew..
but because it was a funnier name for your size..
although we do not have blood relations,
you were like part of our family..

we'll miss your humour, your laughter and your cooking!
especially when it involves spaghetti and barbeque..
your friendliness and warm-heartedness too..
and yes, you will definitely be part of our memories..

the last picture taken with you at our last stop of the day..

now you are free to travel across the oceans and the skies..
and bless us all here from wherever you will be..
Uncle Fat, may you rest in peace!

Avanti lunch and Sunway Lagoon

on Sunday, we had lunch at Avanti, Sunway Resort Hotel..
to celebrate the anniversary of my dad's company!
basically it was a get-together of the staffs and their family..
we had buffet-style and a main course for each of us too!

and my god, the restaurant was totally packed!!!

i was too indulged at eating the food served in the buffet..
that i absolutely forgot to take picture of them.. haha..
quite a selection of food though.. *drools*

watermelon juice.. nice cup.. but sorry, it was tasteless!

rounds and rounds of beer refills were served..

when you get crayons and a long stretch of table to conteng..

and of cos not forgetting your favourite stars! *whacked*

main course no.1 : salmon

main course no.2: steak

view of our long table from the top..

my favourite dessert.. fruits with chocolate topping!

enjoying our big small portion meals on the big plates.. =)

small gifts bring happiness.. i can only see slits of my eyes!!

the cake.. very chocolatey and costly.. *yum yum*

only after 2pm that we set foot into Sunway Lagoon..
we had all-park wristbands but we didn't go for all of them..
there was not enough time and totally tampered bythe rain!

we only had chance to play at the Extreme Park and Wetlands!
the All-Terrain-Vehicle (ATV) ride was a disappointment..
they should have mentioned baby version ATV la..
cos it was sooo tiny compared to the one i rode on last time..
and we toured on the extremely smooth road..
no bumpy rides at all! wasn't it supposed to be jungle-like?

next was paint-ball.. bullshit yet again..
can just shoot 20 bullets at the target..
i thought archery might be a cooler experience.. =.=
if want to have war at the tiny area, got to pay another rm30!

and i can't believe i totally forgot to go for kayak-ing?!!

while waiting for the rain to go away.. we ate!

up next was the water park..
we went for all the tube-rides repeatedly..
i really pity the people who had to push my float down..
it took them and us quite a lot of effort!
cos it was, erm, pretty heavy! my dad sat with me ma.. XD

the waves were pretty fun too!
i found the baby pool waves much nicer than the adults..
plus we had free massage from the big bucket of water!

anyway, it was not very fruitful but sure was tiring day!
slept the moment i reached home.. haha..

experience learnt on the Sunway Lagoon outing?
start entering the theme park as soon as it open its doors..
go only during non-raining season: 1st half of the year..
go with a bunch of friends, guys and girls included..
they must be fun-loving and daring , not the timid type..
and do bring more cash.. it costs a bomb to be in there! =P

back to work!

i have no idea why time passed so quickly today!

i don't remember doing that much of work..
may be is because of the data entry that took me forever..
or photostatting that huge pile of papers..
and end up having to recycle 150 pages of it..
as the printer added a stupid black line on it.. sigh..

and oh, something really made my day brighter today!
i seriously felt more freshen up to finish my work.. =D

i saw a freaking H.O.T. Korean guy with great English accent!

i literally would swoon over him if i were at the counter!
better looking than the Koreans we "stalked" in Taylors!

all i remembered was me busy typing the data.. and then..
i heard a non-Malaysian slang at the counter 2m away..
i took a quick glance to my left.. returned to screen..
and i turned back again and stared for another 5 seconds..
that's what i usually do when i spot a hottie.. XD

from the whole 10 minutes he was standing there..
i lost count of how many times my eyes strayed!
his looks are like the typical Korean celebrities' looks..
not those nerdy guys on the Korean streets.. hehe..
like Yunho of DBSK but more manly.. *wen's eyes brightens*

i tried snapping a picture of him.. carefully and silently..
but my handphone camera failed me..
he's face was just a dot! swt.. swt.. swt..

hopefully he'll still be in IMU when i get in there!
at least can be his friend.. haha.. how i wish..
just imagine having such a hot doctor like him.. *drools*

ok, cut the day-dreaming!!!

day trip to Tanjung Sepat

i enjoy the road journeys during the Hari Raya especially!
you can only get these chances this time of the year..
i mean an extremely smooth-sailing one in the Klang valley..
but the balik kampung and balik bandar rush is INSANE!

anyway, today is the first day of Raya..
no celebration for us but instead we went for a day trip..
5 families were involved in this cuti-cuti Tanjung Sepat..=)

we started our journey around 8.30am..
a journey which i actually forgot to bring my handphone!!!
breakfast was at abrestaurant called Alison in Seri Petaling!
there were a lot of food stalls and people.. yum yum!

our next stop was Pantai Sepang Putra..
the beach where Sepang Gold Coast is in construction..
it's not a joke.. this place actually existed..
i think it is in Bagan Lalang or something like that.. hehe..

it was a good day for the whole day today..
windy weather with no hot sun shining over our heads..
so there's no need for sun-tan lotion or sweat.. hehe..

it was an extremely low tide at the beach..
we walked quite far from one corner to another..
to pick up sea-shells, tiny crabs, sea cucumbers and fishes!
we were having quite a bit of fun playing with mud.. lol..

digging for treasure?

look at their catches: crabs!

our shady picnic spot.. =)

the adults were just relaxing themselves under the shade
and ocassionally took long walks along the beach..
uncle Alan even bought a Batman kite to play..
they were trying to reach the max height of 400m!
and it flew pretty high.. just like an eagle.. hehe..
we were there till around 2.30pm before heading for lunch..

seafood lunch was what we had at Tanjung Sepat..
the long wait due to the massive amount of people,
made us leave before our last dish arrived..
it had to be the best one too: spicy and sour crab! aww..
but we were really running late!

next was a place which sells fishballs, "fu zhok" and taufu..
some are ready-cook while others are fresh cold ones..
each family bought a little of everything..
those food were quite delicious.. =)
no pictures though..

Ling Zhi farm was our next destination..
Ling Zhi is some-kind of mushroom btw.. i just found out! XD
the parents bought quite a variety of Ling Zhi products!

mushrooms..

more mushrooms..

black mushrooms and Ling Zhi..

racks and racks of mushroom for you to plant at home!

the mushrooms have pretty colours and designs.. cute!

here's a list of cultivated edible mushrooms for you.. =P

at the bridge with breathtaking view at the back of the farm..

the cute pao sign..

this shop, Hai Yew Hing, is our next destination..

there was a lot of people there too..
it is famous for its pao.. but we didn't get to try..
cos they were out of pao!
the next available pao-available session is at 8pm..
and it was only 4 something at that time.. =____=

so instead of leaving the place, we ordered a yummy drink
and Tanjung Sepat's fishballs.. again..

with the just-right-sour "Sha-Lei" / 沙梨 drink.. *slurps*

the adorable Alyna and Alvin enjoying themselves..

this shop advertised on TV and papers before leh!

we went into the kitchen to look at the pao making process..
a few of them were busy preparing more paos..
i got their permission to take pictures and video.. nice! ^^

it only took them like 15 seconds to wrap a pao!

getting ready to steam the paos.. *drools*

cows along the way to our final stop..

a lot of these oil palm estates too.. green is good for the eyes!

guess where was our last stop?
a dragon-fruit farm.. how cool is that? i love dragon fruits!
and of cos the pink fruit over the white one.. hehe..

rows and rows of dragon fruit plant being fertilised..

closed-up.. plastic bags removed specially for our cameras!

we got free-taste of the fruit.. so sweet! such a good buy!

the owner making my drink.. surrounded by wine and jams!

cheers to our dragon fruit milk shakes.. so yummylicious!

and that was my day..
basically this trip of ours was to eat, eat and eat non-stop!
that's why we gave up eating dinner.. hehe..
travelling is really fun if you go in a big group like ours..
absolutely loved and enjoyed the experience..
something like holidaying in China..
go everywhere also must buy something back.. haha..
hopefully we get to do this more often! =)))
